Terms of service

These are the terms for Mumsa: the app, its API and the web pages that belong to it. By creating an account you accept them. Last updated 2026-09-28.

The service

Mumsa is provided by Christopher af Bjur. With the app you log food, save recipes and meals, make shopping lists and follow your energy balance, optionally using data from Apple Health. The service is currently free and contains no purchases.

Free early access and paid plans

Mumsa is currently free while in early access. We may later introduce paid plans and move some features into them. We will announce such changes in the app with reasonable notice before they take effect, and we intend to thank early users, for example with a discount or continued access to features they used during early access. Features you have paid for will not be removed during a paid period.

Not medical advice

Nutrition figures in Mumsa are estimates. They come from third-party data, from other users’ corrections and from what you enter yourself, and they can be incomplete or wrong. Calorie goals and energy balance are model calculations based on your profile and health data. Nothing in the service is medical advice. Talk to a healthcare professional before changing your diet if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have or have had an eating disorder.

Age and account

You must be at least 16 to create an account. The account is personal: keep your sign-in details to yourself and contact us if you suspect someone else is using it. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

Your content

You own what you create in Mumsa. For recipes you make public, you grant Mumsa and other users the right to show, save, log and share them, including on share pages on the web and in search engines. If you delete your account, your public recipes are anonymised, but copies others have already saved or logged remain. You are responsible for having the right to upload the photos and content you share.

Acceptable use

You may not

We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms.

AI assistants

You can connect Claude or ChatGPT to your account. The connection is made by you and you can remove it in the app at any time. The assistant’s provider is responsible for what the assistant does, and their terms apply to it. Anything the assistant logs or changes on your behalf counts as done by you.

Food data and licences

Food data comes from Open Food Facts (Open Database License and CC BY-SA) and Livsmedelsverket, the Swedish Food Agency (CC BY 4.0). Corrections you make to food data may be used and shared onward by Mumsa as part of the database, without attribution.

Availability and changes to the service

The service is provided as is. We do not promise that it is always available or free from errors, and we may change, limit or discontinue features. We try to announce major changes in advance.

Liability

To the extent mandatory consumer protection law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for decisions about diet, exercise or health that you make based on the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law.

Termination

You can stop whenever you like by deleting your account in the app. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or if the service is discontinued, and we notify you when reasonable.

Changes to the terms

We may change these terms. The date of the latest change is at the top, and for major changes we let you know in the app. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

Governing law

Swedish law governs these terms, and disputes are settled by Swedish courts. If you are a consumer in another EU country, the protection you have under mandatory rules there is not affected.
